I wanted to share the photos and video from Luke’s last homecoming (July 2015) to help get you all excited for his next one in just a few months! (And if you’re just joining me in following this blog, Luke will be meeting our newest son for the FIRST time at the next homecoming!) I know going through these photos has made me even more excited and the video made me cry yet again. Homecomings are such an emotional but such a INCREDIBLE experience!
Being a military wife has many downfalls. His work comes first. Always. It HAS to. Our country comes before you when your husband is in the military. It can definitely get annoying sometimes but I couldn’t be more proud of my husband! The biggest downfalls by far are the goodbyes. They’re heart-wrenching and I wouldn’t wish them on my worst enemy.
Being a military wife also has its perks, though! Whenever someone asks what military life is like, I always tell people I believe military families get to experience some of the best things in life. Being separated for months at a time really makes you appreciate the person you are separated from and it makes you not take a single day for granted when they ARE home. That’s why homecomings are nothing short of incredible! I thank God my husband has come home safely from every deployment and that we have gotten to experience the pure joy that comes with a homecoming.
First, I want to thank Kim, a fellow military wife, for taking these beautiful photos so we could have them to look back on. She captured them so wonderfully and I am so excited to share them with you! Photo Credit goes to Kim Mumford Photography based in the St. Louis area. You can find her on facebook! She has done all of our newborn, family, holiday, 1st bday cake smash, and anything in between photos. We miss you, Kim!
Also, I’d like to thank one of my best friends, Kristen, for taking the video for us! It STILL makes me cry every single time I watch it. I get especially emotional now knowing we get to experience this again in just a few short months. And most importantly, Luke will FINALLY be able to hold our son Benjamin for the very first time!
And if you’re wondering, YES there will be a photographer at his next homecoming. Little Box Photography based in Pittsburgh, PA will be there to capture that moment for us. She did some absolutely beautiful photos for Benjamin’s newborn shoot. I am thrilled to see what the photos will look like for the homecoming.
And now, last but not least, grab some tissues and enjoy! 😀
And now for the video!
