I’m Elaine, a wife to Luke and a mama of 4 boys. I love a good book when I find some down time (usually when I’m nursing!) and a good Christian movie if I have down time after that.
I’m a military wife as well. My husband Luke was active duty Air Force for 6 years and when his reenlistment came up, we decided it was time to come home. He is now in the Air National Guard, going on 8 years of service to our country. I’m one proud wife!
It’s been one heck of a journey but I wouldn’t change it for the world. In fact, that decision for him to get out of active duty led me to a relationship with God – my first time ever in my 28 years of life. We had an immense struggle, you can read about that here in my very first blog post. But that really (and I mean really) tough time in our life as a married couple opened up a beautiful new world to me and a beautiful new love that I had never noticed before, a much stronger love in my marriage and an even more incredible love I feel from God. I’m ridiculously blessed to have realized this at this point in my life and I want to share that love of God (and His love for you!) with the rest of the world.
Our four beautiful boys are crazy but also such an incredible joy at the same time. Being a mother is something I hope to never take for granted. I pray I can form these little souls I was blessed with into the men God wants them to be, the warriors for Christ He created them to be.
It is not easy. I struggle every single day with impatience, frustration, anxiety, and anger with so many little ones so close in age. But I’ve learned with God, it IS possible to raise them right! I still slip up, I always will because of that unfortunate thing we call original sin. It’s a constant struggle, but I have hope each new day. I feel God’s love brand new each day and it’s such a great fuel!
I’m so excited you have stopped by and I pray the Holy Spirit catches your attention through my writing and that those words can lead you back (or further) into your Heavenly Father’s arms.
There is absolutely no better place!
I would love for you to introduce yourself to me as well! I want you to feel like you’re sitting with me at the kitchen table with a fresh cup of whatever you please (I don’t do coffee, but I would gladly make some for you!). I love to hear from my readers, especially when they tell me I’ve helped them draw closer to God. There’s no better message than that!
