Not only has opening my Bible become something I look forward to every day, but sitting down to tell others about what I am learning has become something I cannot get enough of, too! I have found such joy through blogging and sharing God’s truth with others that I wanted to share some verses that have helped me in this journey of spreading the gospel.
Being a Christian blogger comes with a lot of responsibility. We need to study God’s word, find out how to apply it to our own lives, and strive every day to live out God’s word to the best of our abilities. We simply cannot just type out what the Bible says into posts – it is so much more than that!
To have soul behind every word and meaning behind every word, we need to follow our Savior!
We are role models for others seeking Christ in their lives and we need to be able to offer loving direction to them. We must to be able to reflect Christ’s character in our own lives at home as well as in our writing. Being a true disciple of Christ requires more than just talking the talk. We cannot condemn others in our writing- that is not our job. We are to reach out our arms to anyone seeking relief from their sins and tell them about Christ’s salvation, His sacrifice, and His love for us.

We are to share our experiences of the joy of following God’s Word, and even the hurt in not following God’s Word, so that others may learn from us. We want to encourage them to avoid our mistakes and to pursue God in everything so their thoughts, words, and actions are centered around Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 says:
To this end, we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and powerfully bring to fulfillment every good purpose and every effort of faith, that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, in accord with the grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ. (NAB)
Know that your story and your experience matters and if you ask God to lead your words, He will. If you ask Him to use you to fulfill His purpose, He will. Pray for wisdom and direction in your writing and He will answer your prayer. There is incredible power in prayer! God gives everyone different stories to tell so that we may reach people in our own ways with His Word so your story MATTERS! Never doubt your worthiness – you are worthy because your Savior died on the cross so that YOU may live!
Isaiah 55:10-11 says:
Yet just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down and do not return there til they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, giving seed to the one who sows, and bread to the one who eats, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return empty, but shall do what pleases me, achieving the end for which I sent it. (NAB)
What a beautiful way to think of God’s Truth! We cannot return to our Heavenly Father until we have “watered” this dark world with His beautiful Word full of hope and love! Your purpose is to create a fruitful world full of faith and Christ’s light!
Isaiah 56:1 says:
Thus says the Lord; observe what is right, do what is just, for my salvation is about to come, my justice about to be revealed. (NAB)
Observe what is right – study God’s Word so you know what He expects of you so that you may share that with the world and lead others to Him! You must also strive every day to live out God’s Word, do what is just and moral, and pray against temptations that could keep you from your Father.
Isaiah 60:1 says:
Arise! Shine, for your light has come, the glory of the Lord has dawned upon you. (NAB)
This is my verse for the year and one that speaks volumes to me. Now is your time to stand up and pierce the darkness in this world with the beautiful light of Christ!
Hebrews 10:35-36 says:
Therefore, do not throw away your confidence; it will have great recompense. You need endurance to do the will of God and receive what he has promised. (NAB)
You will receive backlash when you speak the Truth. You will make people angry when you hit a nerve. Accept this persecution as a gift! Accept the suffering with grace and offer it up to your Savior as a small way to say thank you for the suffering He went through for us.
Romans 8:28 says:
We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. (NAB)
When you are called by your Creator to do His work, to do all things good in His name, all things will work for good for you. Your Father will take care of you and protect you.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely; in all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths. (NAB)
Trust God with every part of your blog because it is His blog! It is to be used for His purpose! Ask for His guidance continually and for Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit when you sit down to write – that you may share His wisdom to spread the light of Christ to others.
Matthew 7:13-14 says:
Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
Oh, I just love this one, too! The gate that leads to life is such a narrow one and few go through it. Make sure with every word, every paragraph, and every post on your blog, that you are leading others towards that narrow gate of life!
Matthew 10:16 says:
Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.
This world is full of darkness. Doing God’s work is not easy and does not come without persecution, hatred, and anger towards you. Be calm, be smart, be loving, be simple through it all. Respond lovingly to your enemies and exhibit Christ’s character in every single response you may offer.
Matthew 10:27 says:
What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.
When you experience God’s hand pull you out of a suffering so full of darkness, share that incredible experience with others! There are so many hands reaching out for help in this world and it is your job to help pull them out of their own darkness with God’s Word!
Matthew 10:32-33 says:
Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.
This always makes me think of the story of Cassie Bernall. She was in the Columbine school shooting and the shooter held a gun to her head then asked her if she believed in God. She said yes. And she was fatally shot because she proclaimed her faith. What an incredible amount of courage it would take in that moment. I pray every day I would live out that kind of courage and I pray you as a Christian blogger can do the same in your life and in your writing. It is time to be bold for your Savior! That is the only way this world can ever change!
You have been called by your Creator to share His incredible love with others! I pray these verses will help direct you in your work as a Christian blogger and that they also help strengthen your relationship with your Heavenly Father along the way!
